In today's workplace, what computer software programs do I really need
to be familiar with?



In today's world, if you aren't familiar with computers, you need to be.
Understanding the basic operations of a computer may seem difficult at
first, but it will make your work life so much easier.



The most commonly used programs in the workplace are Microsoft Word and
Microsoft Excel. Many places ask for employees to be familiar with
Microsoft PowerPoint and Intuit QuickBooks is becoming increasing
popular, even among non-accounting job positions.



In addition, if a person were to understand computer basics along with
the four above mentioned programs, their resume is bound to stand out
above those that do not have these skills. Even for a person not
currently looking for a job, adding these skill sets to their arsenal of
qualifications can improve their position within the company.



All of these skills and more can be learned in 4 to 15 hours in our
classroom or even through our online courses.

6. BE GENUINELY interested in people. You can like almost
everybody if you try.

7. BE GENEROUS with praise - cautious with criticism.

8. BE CONSIDERATE with feelings of others. There are usually
three sides to a controversy. Yours, the other fellow's, and the right
side.

9. BE ALERT to give service. What counts most in life is what we
do for others.

10. ADD TO THIS a good sense of humor, a big dose of patience and
a dash of humility, and you will be rewarded many-fold.

Attitude

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude of life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than
the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures,
than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more
important that appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a
company... a church... a home. The remarkable this is we have a choice
every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot
change our past... We cannot change the fact that people will act in a
certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do
is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am
convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.
And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes.
